Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Kabreads (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Kabreads is a mobile application that enables users to create reading clubs, upload books (EPUB and PDF formats), and read together in real-time with synchronized page navigation. The App includes features such as quote capture, reading progress tracking, and live discussions.

3. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account using an email address or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

4. User Content

4.1 Book Uploads

You may upload EPUB and PDF files to your reading clubs. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right to share the content with club members. You are solely responsible for ensuring that uploaded materials do not infringe on any third-party intellectual property rights.

4.2 Quotes and Highlights

Quotes and highlights you save within the App are your content. You retain ownership of your annotations and may share them with club members at your discretion.

4.3 Prohibited Content

You agree not to upload, share, or transmit content that:

• Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
• Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Is illegal, threatening, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
• Violates any applicable laws or regulations

5. Subscriptions and Payments

The App is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, they will be billed through Apple's App Store at the prices displayed at the time of purchase. Subscriptions would automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. You will be able to manage and cancel any subscriptions in your App Store account settings. We will notify you in-app before any paid feature launches and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

6. Club Management

Club hosts are responsible for managing their reading clubs, including member moderation and content shared within the club. We reserve the right to remove clubs or content that violates these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Kabreads and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Real-time synchronization depends on network conditions and may experience delays.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kabreads shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the App.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
